Angelique Sandas is a life long student of movement & the interconnectedness of mind body & spirit. It began with gymnastics and dance as a child, igniting her love of movement, the body’s natural way of expressing ideas, emotions, and experiences. Angelique received her B.A. in dance from the University of Minnesota, graduating in 1999. It was during these years that she was first introduced to yoga. In yoga, Angelique's relationship with movement developed new depth and meaning. Movement became a path to profound inner transformation.

In 2000, Angelique was introduced to meditation practices and began to explore asana study in earnest. She eventually landed in an Ashtanga class in Chicago and felt as if she’d found what she’d been looking for. Inspired to share what she was learning, she felt called to teach. In 2003, Angelique traveled to Thailand to study with Paul Dallaghan in the Ashtanga yoga system as taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and received her teaching certification. She has also studied pranayama and yogic philosophy with Sri O.P. Tiwari of the Kaivalyadhama Institute, India and received advanced anatomy and adjustment training from David Keil of Miami, FL.

After a few years practicing and teaching the Ashtanga method in Chicago, Angelique was drawn to deepen her experience with yoga and took her first trip to study with the head of the Ashtanga lineage in Mysore, India. In 2007, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois was still actively teaching and Angelique spent two months studying the method with him and his grandson, the current head of the lineage, Paramaguru R. Sharath Jois. While in India, Angelique met Kino MacGregor who became her teacher and mentor.

Returning to the states, Angelique moved to Miami Beach to work and study with Kino and her husband Tim Feldmann at their studio Miami Life Center. There she remained until 2012. In Miami Beach Angelique worked closely in the Ashtanga method with Kino MacGregor as well as Tim Feldmann and Greg Nardi and had the opportunity to study with many incredible teachers of Ashtanga, Pranayama, philosophy, chanting, sanskrit, and anatomy.

She has made several visits since 2007 to study with the head of the Ashtanga yoga lineage in Mysore, India and during her 2011 visit, Angelique received Authorization to teach Ashtanga Yoga from Paramaguru R. Sharath Jois and continues her relationship with her teacher Kino MacGregor.

Throughout the years that Angelique has been a devoted practitioner and committed instructor of yoga, she has experienced the inevitable, natural, and challenging ebbs and flows of life. Becoming a mother of two wild little boys have given her greater insight into her own journey and deeper compassion for the challenges we all face in our personal and spiritual endeavors. Yoga practices have always been a source of strength, inspiration, healing, and transformation for Angelique and she sees it as her life’s purpose to share those benefits with others.
