MYC's mission is to create an environment where people gather to grow, strengthen and heal through the practice of yoga, by providing a range of classes & events that offer an opportunity for each ability and genre of life.

Kat Casey, Owner
Monona Yoga Center is the culmination of years of practice, teaching, dreaming and inspiration. Kat Casey has been a teacher and student of yoga for over 15 years. She works extensively with exceptional children both as an educator and yoga therapist.
Kat first began her yoga practice for personal healing. Then, in 2003 she became a certified yoga therapist for children with special needs. Since then she has received advanced training and has worked with children with a wide range of disabilities including learning disabilities, cognitive and physical disabilities, as well as those on the Autism Spectrum. Therapy has included private one on one sessions and group classes.
In 2006, she became a certified teacher of adult yoga. In 2011, Kat travelled to Mysore, India to study under Saraswathi at the Ashtanga Yoga Institute.

Kat is also a special education teacher with a Master’s Degree in Advance Practices in Special Education from Northern Illinois University, She has held yoga clubs for children at the inner city elementary school she taught at in Savannah, GA. Kat integrated yoga into the classroom, and held daily pranayama for the entire school. Kat has and is currently teaching Special Education in the Madison, WI area.

Kat’s personal approach to yoga is a combination of healing, strengthening, and empowering through practice.
