A Message to the Mala Community...
After ten beautiful years of serving Madison with traditional and modern yoga, transformative children’s programs, sound healings, and so much more, I’ve made the bittersweet decision to close our physical studio at the end of June.

Mala was born out of a dream—a dream to fill what was missing in Madison: a small, community-focused shala where every teacher and student knew each other’s names, where this space became a second home. A place where the eight limbs of yoga extended beyond the mat, weaving social justice into practice through free yoga for veterans, scholarships for underserved communities (BIPOC, LGBTQ+, disabled, and those in recovery), and programs that taught children—from elementary age onward—the lifelong tools of meditation, empathy, and self-regulation. You helped build that dream into a living, breathing sanctuary.

This space—and each of you—has been integral to this journey. Now, it’s time for me to step back, rest, and reflect.
The Path Ahead
After this chapter closes, I’ll be taking time to pause and listen deeply. When the time is right, I look forward to sharing offerings closer to my heart—whether that’s traditional Ashtanga, yoga therapy for children with special needs, prenatal yoga and yoga & ayurveda for perimenopause and beyond, and other sacred practices. This next phase will unfold gently, in its own time.
