Mala's Mission

The mission of Mala Yoga Center is to hold space for authentic self-expression & Healing for people of all identities—embracing diversity in race, gender, age, orientation, culture, ability, religion, and more. Through learning & practicing the 8 limbs of yoga, Mala Yoga Center honors the roots of yoga & applies its lessons to strive for social justice in the community & world.

Mala's Vision

The vision of Mala Yoga Center sets a shared intention to come together to learn, practice, heal, & honor the traditions of yoga as they have spread into the world from their origins in India. This vision creates a living, breathing mala: each student, a bead – our shared intention, the string that unites us.

Mala's Values

Our studio offers flexible ways to practice so that ALL can find peace within our community. We have memberships & class passes that flow with your life - we even have an Allyship Fund! If paying full price for our yoga classes or memberships is not financially feasible for you, you can apply for the Allyship Fund Membership via our website! We are ALWAYS accepting new applicants & want to work with you.

Meet the Owner

Kat McMullin

Kat McMullin, owner of Mala Yoga Center since 2015, is a dedicated teacher and lifelong student of yoga. Her work is rooted in traditional practice and informed by years of experience in both yoga and special education, supporting individuals with diverse needs.

With a background in children’s and adult yoga, Kat brings a therapeutic, individualized approach to her teaching. Her classes, private sessions, and mentorship offerings are designed to meet students where they are, creating space for meaningful, sustainable practice.

She continues to deepen her own path through study and practice, guiding others with a focus on awareness, consistency, and personal growth.
